Job Duties:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of GAAP and accounting, and an excellent work ethic. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate with solid values, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and sound leadership and decision-making ability. You will manage and assist with the day-to-day tasks in our finance department and help the CFO provide financial, administrative, and human resource management for the Company. Brighton Science is a supplier to the Department of Defense, and the controller will become familiar with Government contracting and Federal Acquisition Regulations. The position reports to the CFO and will work closely with the leadership and management teams. The position has many opportunities for career advancement as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements and provide status of financial results by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Using financial modeling, prepare forward looking financial statements and budgets
- Perform in-depth financial analysis as needed to understand results, trends, and data that is useful to manage the company and project future financial results.
- Maximize safeguarding and return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
- Prepare for financial audits by and interact with the certified public accounting team opining on the financial statements.
- Primary liaison with Insperity, our professional employment organization and overseeing human resource issues
- Review and execute Terms and Conditions for sales and procurements and review and approve Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Manage financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and evaluating employees
- Oversee facility management issues with department heads and landlord.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Summary of Key Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting, proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools, and a solid working knowledge of accounting systems used in manufacturing companies
- Strong organizational and office technology skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and objectives
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
- Experience in manufacturing, cost accounting, and ideally some familiarity with Software-as-a Service accounting issues
- Solid leadership and management skills
